More Than Half of All U.S. States Officially Begin Reopening Today

Ten more states will begin easing restrictions today as federal social distancing guidelines expire. The CDC drafted a 17-page document detailing specific guidelines for easing back into our normal lives. It involves six categories, each broken into multiple phases. The categories include: child care programs, schools and day camps, communities of faith, employers with vulnerable workers, restaurants and bars and mass transit. Now it will be up to the states if they choose to follow through or not as more than half begin reopening today. Following Georgia and Tennessee, who loosened restrictions earlier this week, is Alabama, Pennsylvania, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, North Dakota and Arizona. Each state is in different stages of reopening, with some allowing more than others to resume life as normal as possible. Also quietly beginning to fade out today are federal social distancing guidelines.
