President Trump Places Blame on WHO Over Pandemic

While COVID-19 continues to spread and tens of thousands of people die, arguments ensue over who’s fault the pandemic really is. Vice President Mike Pence has “vowed” to hold the World Health Organization responsible for the way they’ve handled the situation from the beginning. He claimed President Trump was on top of the outbreak and was making strides to prevent spread in the U.S., such as suspending all travel to China, as far back as January 31st while WHO was still “diminishing the threat and its impact”. Now President Trump is threatening to suspend funding to the organization. WHO defended themselves saying they’ve tracked the virus since they first heard of it on January first. By the tenth they had posted comprehensive information to their website regarding the situation. By the end of the month the virus was declared a “public health emergency of international concern.” WHO directed a statement towards the president saying, “If you don’t want many more body bags, then you refrain from politicizing [the pandemic].”
