Wisconsin Primary to Proceed as Scheduled
The Wisconsin Primary is still set to be held tomorrow despite pleas to postpone it. Many argue holding the primary tomorrow is a form of voter suppression as people are forced to choose between their health safety and their constitutional right. It’s believed given the choice, a majority of people will not show up at the polls tomorrow as coronavirus cases and deaths surge. In order to give as many people as possible a chance to participate in the primary, a judge ordered the extension for deadlines of absentee ballots to be sent and received by six days. While Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers has signed a last minute executive order asking the election to be postponed, other Wisconsin republicans have filed an emergency petition to freeze the extended deadlines. They say the new deadlines pose a threat to the integrity of the election and should not be allowed. The voting disputes has left many Wisconsin residents extremely frustrated.
