Man Charged for Robbing China King at Knifepoint in Myrtle Beach

A man has been charged for robbing a Myrtle Beach Chinese restaurant at knifepoint. David Cook entered the China King on Highway 501 last Friday. He told the victims inside not to move and demanded money. He claimed he had a gun concealed in a paper bag he had wrapped around his hand. One of the victims then physically engaged Cook. Two people were injured in the scuffle, with one victim cut several times and another who was hit. But shortly after, Cook accidentally dropped the collapsible knife he had hidden in the bag and the victims were able to detain him until police arrived. Cook is charged with four counts of kidnapping, armed robbery and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
