Dolphins Found Dead in Florida with Bullet, Stab Wounds

Two dolphins found within a week of each other appear to have been shot and stabbed multiple times. The dolphins were discovered just off the Florida coast. The first was floating in the waters of Naples. It appears the animal sustained multiple bullet or stab wounds, or quite possibly both. And the second was found washed up on Pensacola Beach in the Florida Panhandle with a bullet in its side. It’s believed the dolphins both died as a result of their injuries. Police are offering a $20,000 reward to anyone with information. At least 29 dolphins have been found dead, shot by guns or arrows, or impaled by sharp objects since 2002. At least four of those incidences occurred just last year. In May, a dolphin was found with a fatal puncture wound to its head off Captiva Island.
