Actress Gives Witness Testimony in Weinstein Case

Harvey Weinstein’s trial in New York also continues after a long day of opening statements and witness testimony. People were shocked by the graphic testimony given by actress Annabella Sciorra who said Weinstein barged into her apartment and sexually assaulted and raped her. This was despite obvious physical attempts from “The Sopranos” actress to make him stop. Unfortunately, this was 25 years ago and the statute of limitations on Sciorra’s attack has run out so, Weinstein cannot be directly charged or convicted for assaulting her. However, he still faces two counts of predatory sexual assault and rape that are within the limitations and can be convicted if prosecutors prove it. Sciorra’s revealing testimony is relevant to the charges and will inevitably help prosecutors’ case in the end which is why she took the stand.
