Things to Remember as Temperatures Drop Below Freezing
South Carolina temperatures are plummeting and aren’t expected to get any better in the coming days. With temperatures predicted to fall into the 20s, Grand Strand experts ask that you remember to do a few things. First, it’s now an Horry County law that if temperatures reach below 45 degrees, you have to bring your animals indoors and ask that you consider fostering shelter animals in your warm homes for the time being. They also ask that people check their pipes. It’s not uncommon for them to burst if they aren’t properly sealed. Investing in cheap insulation, which can be found at any hardware store, could save you thousands of dollars. Lastly, mechanics say it’s important to get your car’s checked. Colder weather can cause your car’s heat to not work or even prevent your car from starting all together. As an added reminder, they say don’t ignore warning lights on your dashboard and drive safe.
