Terrorist Leader Confirmed Killed in U.S. Drone Strike

The Pentagon confirmed that a president ordered U.S. drone strike has killed one of Iran’s top commanders in Baghdad. Qasem Soleimani was confirmed killed along with his top deputy. He was head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force and largely influenced Tehran’s proxy conflicts in the Middle East. The Pentagon also confirmed Soleimani was considered a ruthless killer and blamed him for hundreds of deaths of Americans and their allies in several attacks in recent months. It’s reported the strike was a “target of opportunity.” Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets to rally with plans for more protests well underway. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has already taken action. He’s appointed a new leader in Soleimani’s place and has vowed to avenge him. The U.S. military remains on high alert after threats of retaliation.
