New Bill Proposed For More Equal Employment Opportunities
A new South Carolina bill has been filed that aims to give more equal employment opportunities to people with disabilities. There are more than 720,000 people with disabilities in South Carolina and an unemployment rate up to 67%, making this state the sixth worst in the nation. The proposed bill would give tax incentives to businesses, as well as form a commission that would guide businesses and government on how to support people working with disabilities. The bill was filed this month and is set to be heard by state lawmakers as soon as January.
