69-Vehicle Pileup Leaves Over 50 Injured
At least 50 people were injured in a 69-vehicle pileup in Virginia this weekend. The pileup occurred yesterday morning along Interstate 64 as a result of heavy fog and icy roads. The crash closed both sides of the interstate for the majority of the day. It’s reported some cars were squeezed so close together that it made rescue efforts difficult for firefighters and emergency responders. Fifty-one people were injured and either treated at the scene or taken to the hospital. Two people are currently in critical condition but no fatalities have been reported as a result of the crash. Police are still investigating the initial accident that caused the pileup.
