Broadway at the Beach Robber Killed in Shootout

The Broadway at the Beach robber was killed in an officer-involved shooting. The suspect’s name was Kyle Horton and it’s believed he was making his way to Wilmington. The shooting occurred just outside the Briarcliff Villas in New Hanover County shortly after a confrontation with detectives. Horton was also believed to be wanted for multiple other heinous crimes in the Charlotte and Myrtle Beach area including kidnapping, carjacking at gunpoint, and armed robbery. No officers were reported injured during the shoot out.
