Judge Blocks Funding Allocations for Border Wall

A federal judge issued a nationwide injunction yesterday that prevents the Trump Administration from diverting military funds into border wall projects. The ruling comes from El Paso, Texas Judge David Briones who claims that President Trump illegally declared the funds be diverted. The administration originally planned to redirect up to 3.6 billion dollars worth of funding from military construction projects. The Network for Human Rights, along with El Paso County, sued President Trump after the declaration and consider this to be a win for themselves. There are limitations, however, to the memorandum. It does not in fact prohibit the administration from re-allocating upwards of $2.5 billion dollars from Department of Defense funding that was originally designated to supporting counter-drug activities.
