Shooting in Jersey City Leaves Six Dead
Six people including a police officer have died after a standoff that lasted for several hours in Jersey City. Sometime in the afternoon yesterday, two suspects and multiple law enforcement agencies exchanged gunfire on city streets. Not much else is known about what led to the standoff, but we do know a stolen U-Haul truck was involved. Police have made a statement saying there is no indication of terrorism. No one is currently in custody in relation to the shooting as the two suspects were among those killed in the standoff. Also among those dead are at least three civilians and Detective Joseph Seals who was with the department for more than fifteen years. Two other officers and one more civilian are currently in stable condition after sustaining injuries from gunshots.
