Spears, David Earl

David Earl Spears, age 46 of Rockingham passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2011 in an automobile accident. David was born December 16, 1964 in Concord, North Carolina, loving son of Robert Earl Spears and June McAdams Spears. He was a college graduate from Appalachian State University. David was a successful businessman, the co-owner and operator of Carolina Jewelry and Pawn of Laurinburg and American Preferred Tax Service in Laurinburg. He was a faithful member of Freedom Baptist Church where he loved serving as a Deacon and the Sound Ministry. He was a Christian and devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. David left a legacy of love and admiration to all those that knew him. He always had a smile and loving words to share. He loved his family and enjoyed traveling to ball games and sports events with his sons. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, riding 4-wheelers, snow skiing, working on computers and televisions and especially loved to read. He also enjoyed his time at the beach looking for sharks teeth. He will be missed by so many. David leaves behind his wife of 21 years, Deborah “Debbie” Ball Spears of their home in Rockingham, three sons, David “Andrew” Spears, Evan Pearson Spears and William “Will” McAdams Spears all of the home; his parents, Robert “Bob” Spears and June Spears of Rockingham, his sister, Deborah Brown and brother-in-law Terry Brown of Rockingham, nephew Tyler Brown, his closest friends, Jay Denham and Michelle Denham of Rockingham; many, many friends and K9 buddies, Scooter and Drake. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11th at Freedom Baptist Church 987 Hwy 1 South, Rockingham, NC The family request that memorial donations be made in memory of David to the Freedom Baptist Church Building Fund. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at the Freedom Baptist Church in Rockingham officiated by Rev. Ronnie McLean. Burial will follow at Eastside Cemetery in Rockingham.
