Carrigan, Michael Garner

DARLINGTON – Michael “Mike” Garner Carrigan, Sr., age 51, passed away, Friday, June 10, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Mike was born in Nuermberg, Germany, son of Irene Garner Carrigan and the late Colonel Marion R. Carrigan, Jr. He served his country with the United States Army and achieved his Master‘s Degree of Textiles and Technology and did his undergraduate studies at Francis Marion University. He worked in textiles and internet sales. Mike was a Master Mason, enjoyed fishing and his family. His family meant everything to him and he worked hard providing for them. He was a member of Darlington Presbyterian Church. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife, Patricia “Patty” Mitchum Carrigan; his son, Michael G. Carrigan, Jr.; his daughter, Kimberly Elaine Carrigan; his brother Marion Richards “Rick” Carrigan, III , all of Darlington and his mother-in-law, Corine H. Mitchum of Columbia. The family will receive friends Sunday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 12 in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home officiated by the Reverend Kevin Cauley. Burial will follow in Welsh Neck Baptist Church Cemetery, Society Hill.
