Florence-David Hadley Adams, age 75, died Sunday, June 5, 2011 in a local hospital. Graveside services will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in Darlington Memory Gardens, directed by Belk Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home. Born September 28, 1935 in Hartsville, he was the son of the late Hadley Adams and the late Verona Beatrice Reid Adams. Mr. Adams served his country in the United States Air Force, and then was employed by SEARS for thirty nine years, working as a warehouse manager then as maintenance supervisor, until his retirement. David, during his lifetime, enjoyed growing vegetables and sharing them with his family and friends. He also enjoyed watching his goats play. Surviving is his wife of fifty-two years, Betty Williamson Adams of Florence, a daughter, Teresa (Gil) Tallon of Olanta, a son, Raymond E. “Ray” Lambert, Jr. of Florence, three grandchildren: Chris (Ellen) Lambert, Brandi (Jason) McCutcheon, Stacie (Brandon) Johnson, six great-grandchildren, a sister, Beatrice Adams (James) Cook of Florence, two brothers: Alvious (Penny) Adams of Hartsville and Ray (Ernestine) Adams of Darlington, two sisters-in-laws: Diane Adams of Darlington and Toni Adams of Florence. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Billy and Kenneth Adams. The family would like to express the gratitude for the love and care given by the nurses and staff of the 10th Floor South at the McLeod Pavilion.
