LAKE CITY: Mr. Timothy L. “Timmy” Strickland, 50, husband of Norma Feagin Strickland died Saturday, May 14, 2011, at McLeod Regional Medical Center. Mr. Strickland was born November 17, 1960, in Florence County, a son of Mary Norton Strickland and the late Lavelle Strickland. He retired from the United States Army after thirty-one (31) years of service. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and working in his garden. Surviving are: His wife, Norma F. Strickland of Lake City; son, Timothy Strickland and his fiancé, Carrie, of Florence; daughter, Amanda Strickland of Florence; step-daughters, Tammy Griffin and her husband, Tommy, Tracey Evans and Teresa McCants and her husband, Chip, all of Lake City; Mother, Mary N. Strickland of Scranton; grandchildren, Bailee Strickland, Cameron Griffin, Robert Griffin, Erica Timmons, Shayna Atkinson, Maria Leris, CJ McCants and Addyson McCants; brothers, Wayne Strickland of Scranton and Terry Strickland of Columbia; sister, Debbie Smith and her husband, Ricky of Hartsville; and special friends, Tony Floyd, Harry Hickman, Lee Hemingway, Sgt. Major Cooper, Curtis and Georgia Parrott and Ross and Judy Matthews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at Matthews Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, with full military honors, will follow in Lake City Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 17th at Carolina Funeral Home, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton.
