Evelena Wilson Mims, 75, the beloved wife of Julius Alvin “JA” Mims, went home to be with the Lord on April 27, 2011, at the Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Mims was born the daughter of Benjamin Aaron Wilson and Odie Michau Wilson on January 15, 1936, in Andrews, SC. She was educated in Williamsburg County and was a member of the Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother. Evelena and “JA” were married December 5, 1968 and celebrated 43 years together. She leaves behind three children: Earl D. Collins, Jr., Charles D. (Amelia) Collins, and Denise C. Foxworth; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; one brother, Marion J. Wilson; and one sister, Ethel Lee Trimnal. A Home Going Celebration will be 11 AM, Saturday morning, April 30, 2011, graveside in the Spring Pond Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery directed by McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Friday evening, April 29, 2011, at the Georgetown Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the Mims family.
