Coker, Lacey
Lacey Devon Coker, Sr. age 71, died April 26, 2011 in a Sumter hospital after a brief illness. Born in Clarendon County, he was a son of the late Albert Coker and Leila Welch Coker, he was employed by Sumter Coatings for over 50 years as a Lab Technician, served on the Clarendon County Voter Registration Board, and was a member of Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, and was president of the Men‘s Fellowship. Surviving are his wife, Emmie Miles Coker of Turbeville, a daughter Judith (Mark) Kelly of Florence, four sons, Lacey Devon (Ramelle) Coker, Jr. of Turbeville currently deployed in Jalalabad, Afghanistan, Roger (Lauren) Coker of Sumter, Jeffrey (Cheryl) Coker of Turbeville, and Jonathan (Shelly) Coker of Florence, a brother J. A. (Bertha) Coker of Turbeville. Fourteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harley (Annette) Coker, and a step-grandson, Matthew Zimmerman. Memorials may be made to Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church Building Fund, 2144 Horse Branch Road, Turbeville, S.C. 29162 Funeral services will be held at 4 o‘clock pm Friday April 29, 2011 at Pine Dale Pentecostal Holiness Church with burial in the church cemetery directed by FLOYD FUNERAL HOME. Visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm Thursday at Pine Dale Church.
