Skipper, William Murray
William Murray “Billy” Skipper, 64, a native of Andrews and the beloved husband of Bonnie M. Skipper, went home to be with the Lord on Friday evening, April 15, 2011, at the Waccamaw Community Hospital. Mr. Skipper was born the son of John Ernest Skipper, Sr. and Carrie Hall Skipper on September 28, 1946 in Andrews, SC. He was a 1964 Graduate of Williamsburg High School. He was a decorated Vietnam Conflict Army Veteran. He was a retired steel inspector for Georgetown Steel Company. He was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Billy and Bonnie were married February 12, 1971 and from their blessed union was born: two sons, William Murray “Billy” ( Joni) Skipper, Jr. and John Edward Skipper; and one grandson, Landon Murray Skipper. He is also survived by one brother, Robert Samuel “Bobby” (Shana) Skipper and a large extended family including: Glenda Skipper, Robert Walker, Russell Quick, Vernon and Ann Blakely, Rev. Gordon and Katie Timmons, Thomas and Harriett McCants, Thomas and Frances Powell, Floyd Lambert, William Lamb, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased: his parents, one brother John E. “Skip” Skipper; two sisters, Glenda S. Walker and Carolyn S. Quick; two sister-in-laws, Margaret M. Lambert and Mary Alice M. Lamb. A Service of Death and Resurrection with Military Recognition will be 4 PM, Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at the Trinity United Methodist Church. Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Andrews Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday evening, April 18, 2011, in the Family Life Center of Trinity United Methodist Church.
