Miss Barbara “Bobbie” Jean McCants, 74, a beloved sister, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, March 22, 2011, at the Prince George Health Center. Barbara was born the daughter of Henry Russell McCants and Florie Cannon McCants on August 1, 1936, in Andrews. She was a 33 year employee of Oneita Industries. She was a faithful member of the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church for 30+ years serving in the Women‘s Ministries and The Willing Workers Sunday School Class. Barbara‘s gentle spirit and vibrant smile wrapped in her hearty hugs will be deeply missed by all those who have experience this lady‘s love and friendship. She leaves behind one brother, Jimmy (Ann) McCants; two sisters, Mary Bell (John S.) Elliott, and Vivian (Donald) Owens; and a large extended family, including her sister-in-law, Judy McCants and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, and one brother, Winston McCants. A Home Going Celebration will be 4 PM, Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church with interment in the Oak Ridge Cemetery directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6–8 PM Wednesday evening, March 23, 2011 in the Andrews Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Andrews PH Church. McKenzie Funeral Home is honored to serve the McCants family.
