Sellers, Freddis

LAKE CITY: Mr. J. Freddis Sellers, 69, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at McLeod Regional Medical Center, Florence, after an illness. Mr. Sellers was born June 28, 1941, in Lake City, a son of the late Charles Riley Sellers and Alice Dora Tarte Sellers. He was a graduate of Lake City High School and formerly employed with Tarte Motors of Lake City for 30 years as service manager. He retired from PDRTA as transportation manager and was a United States Air Force veteran. Mr. Sellers was a member of Lake City Pentecostal Holiness Church, a Mason, member of Lake City Lodge #192, and a Shriner. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and member of Tupelo Hunting Club. Survivors Include: His daughters, Alice Bertell Johnson and her husband, Robert of Oak Harbor, Washington, Sherri Elaine Bare and her husband, Kevin of Camas, Washington and Elizabeth Ann “Betsy” Sellers and her fiancé, Chris Huggins of Florence; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Emma Bare, Hailie Bare and Madison Bare; brother, Donald Sellers and his wife, Iko, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; nephews, Douglas Sellers of Miami, Florida, and Bruce Sellers and his wife, GiGi of Fairfax Station, Virginia; and niece, Joyce Sellers of Dallas, Texas. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Carolina Funeral Home Chapel, 215 E. Highway 378 ByPass, Scranton. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Florence, directed by Carolina Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.
