Lloyd Calvin Leazer 61 passed away on February 28, 2011 at Premier Nursing Home in Lake Waccamaw, NC. Lloyd was born in Laurinburg NC on June 9th, 1949. He is the son the late Jessie and Margaret Leazer. He also was preceded by a sister Pearl L. Dial. Lloyd dedicated his career to Law Enforcement beginning with the Scotland County Sheriff‘s Department as an auxiliary officer in 1974. He later advanced in the Sheriff‘s Department as a Deputy Sheriff in 1976. In 1981 he began working with the Laurinburg Police Department until 1986. He then moved on to Hoke County Sheriff‘s Department. In 1987, Lloyd joined the Raeford Police Department where he retired as Captain of Detectives in 1996. In recognition of his dedicated work in law enforcement, Lloyd was the awarded the Advance Law Enforcement Certificate, which is the highest certificate given in North Carolina Law Enforcement. Lloyd was a member of Tyler Town Fire Department in Raeford. He was also a member of Scotland and Hoke Counties Law Enforcement Association. Lloyd was a member of the Scotland County Optimist Club and volunteered his time with the little league baseball program. He is survived by two daughters, Brandi Leazer Harold and husband Greggory Mark Harold of Midlothian, VA and Elizabeth Lloyd Leazer of Holden Beach, NC and two brothers Jesse Leazer of Calhoun, Ga. and Johnny Leazer of Laurinburg and one sister Levon Leazer Williams of McColl, SC, and one grandson John Kristian Harold of Midlothian, VA and several Nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held on Wednesday March 2, 2011 from 6-8pm at Richard Boles Funeral Service in Laurinburg. The funeral will be held on Thursday March 3, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel with burial following at Scotland Cemetery with Military Honors.
