Sylvester, William Eugene

William Eugene “Little Gene” Sylvester, age 60, died Sunday, February 27, 2011 at his residence in Rock Hill. Born June 23, 1950 in Darlington County, he is the son of Eugene Lewis Sylvester and Sara Horne Sylvester of Florence. Mr. Sylvester enjoyed working in his yard and hunting. Gene coached little league baseball in Darlington for many years. He retired after 39 years from ESAB in Florence. Gene was of the Baptist Faith. Surviving in addition to his parents, are his wife, Dottie Anderson Sylvester, two sons: Billy (Jodie) Sylvester of Manning, Pat (Kim) Sylvester of Rock Hill; three brothers: Phillip (Diane) Sylvester, Steve (Ginger) Sylvester, both of Hartsville, Terry (Wendy) Sylvester of Florence; four grandchildren: Sara Beth Sylvester, Wes Sylvester, Josey Sylvester, Will Sylvester, several nieces and nephews and a beloved dog “Thelma Lou”. Funeral Services will be 3:00 P. M. Tuesday, March 1, in the chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment in Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Belk Funeral Home.
