Jacqueline ‘Jackie’ Brown Mills, 71, of Darlington entered in rest on Sunday, February 27, 2011 in her daughter’s arms with her sister by her side at the Bethea Baptist Retirement Community. Jackie was the daughter of the late Alice Juanita O’Neal and Jack Franklin Brown. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend and will be missed by all. Her favorite past times were sewing, gardening, dancing, and spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Mills worked at local sewing factories, Young’s Pecan out of Florence and retired from Lazy Boy from Florence. Surviving are her daughter, Joan Melton Forthman and her friend Roger Coleman of Darlington; her grandchildren, Sherry Gainey of Myrtle Beach, Brad Hinds and his Fiance Candice of Florida, Crystal Weatherford and her husband, Aaron of Darlington, Ryann Walters of Darlington and James Forthman and his girlfriend, Autumn of Darlington; her great grandchildren, Matthew Hinds and Damion Weatherford; her sister, Betty Locklair of Darlington; her niece, Renee Carraway and her husband, Jason of Darlington; and her great nephews, Jake and Josh both of Darlington. Jackie was preceded in death by her nephew, Steven ‘Stevie’ Locklair. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 3 PM in the Chapel of Kistler Hardee Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Kistler Hardee Funeral Home and other times at the residence, 110 Odom Street, Darlington.
