Florence City Councilman Charged With Indecent Exposure

Chaquez McCall represents an at-large district for the city of Florence and has been on the council for nearly six years.

A Florence city councilman was arrested Wednesday morning.

33-year-old Chaquez McCall was arrested on an indecent exposure charge. He was booked into the detention center around 7:30am and was released less than two hours later on a personal recognizance bond. He is set to appear in court in january.

McCall released a statement saying that due to the situation remaining a legal matter, he cannot comment on the underlying facts at this time. He added, “I am mindful that public attention can affect people beyond those directly involved, and because of that I intend to approach this process with care, dignity, and respect.”
