Britt, Eddie Parnell

Eddie “Queen” Parnell Britt, age 93, of Lumberton, NC died on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Hermitage Retirement Center in Lumberton. She was born on March 2, 1917 to the late Edward and Molly Potter Parnell. She previously was the owner/operator of Paul Britt‘s Convenient Store. Mrs. Britt is survived by two brothers, Charles Edward Parnell of Lady Lake, FL and Wallace Parnell of Fairmont, NC; four sisters, Louise Britt and Isabel Woodell both of Lumberton, NC, Lois Gibson of Gibson, NC and Sally Shaw of Evergreen, NC; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Paul Britt; three daughters, Peggy Lou Bullock, Brenda Prevatte and Sherry Lynne Hayes; and a sister, Joyce Gibson A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church with Rev. Glenn Grant officiating. Burial will follow in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton. Visitation will be on Monday, February 28, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 PM at West Lumberton Baptist Church, 2320 West 5th Street in Lumberton.
