Williams, Jeremy Allen

Jeremy Allen “Scrubs” Williams age 17 of Laurinburg went to be with God on Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Jeremy was born October 23, 1993 in Moore County, the precious son of Tanya Walters Williams and Charles Allen Williams. He loved the Lord more than anything. He was a member of the Saint Luke United Methodist Church Youth Group and the Appalachian Service Project. He enjoyed films, especially those directed by Terrence Malick , his favorite, “The Thin Red Line” changed his life. He also admired the actor, Nicholas Cage. Jeremy was an extremely intelligent person and a good student at Scotland High School. He loved wearing scrubs and enjoyed playing football and basketball, friends often referred to him as the “rebound savage”. Jeremy was a loving son, brother, grandson and friends that will be missed by his family, friend and his cat, Spot. He is survived by his parents, Allen and Tanya Williams, his brothers, Colton Williams and Alex Williams all of their home in Laurinburg; his grandparents, Marvin and Evelyn Walters of Laurinburg, Charles and Barbara Williams of Laurinburg; aunts and uncles, Ann and Frank Goodwin of Laurinburg, Russell Williams of California, Teresa and Jay Murphy of Emerald Isle; two special cousins, Tyler and Samuel Goodwin, his church family and many friends. The family request that memorial donations be made in memory of Jeremy to the Appalachian Service Project at Saint Luke United Methodist Church, 1501 Turnpike Road, Laurinburg, NC 28353. A memorial service to celebrate Jeremy‘s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Saint Luke United Methodist Church. Visitation for family and friends will follow the service.
