Evers, Elmer

Elmer Franklin Evers, age 76 of Laurinburg passed away on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at his home. Elmer was born July 14, 1934 in Scotland County, son of the late Dock Milford Evers and Gladys Polston Evers. He was an accountant with McNair Investment Farms retiring after many years of dedicated service. He attended Salem Emanuel Church and loved spending time with his family and friends. Elmer is survived by his sisters, Ruth Wilson of Greenville, SC, Annie Neal Byrd of Laurinburg, Laurene Stubbs and husband Jimmy of Laurinburg and a host of nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James Bentford “Buddy” Evers. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday at Richard Boles Funeral Service. The family request that memorials be made in memory of Mr. Evers to the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina, Inc. P. O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450-0127 Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at the Richard Boles Funeral Service Chapel officiated by Rev. Glen Odom. Burial will follow the service in Hillside Cemetery.
