Sanders, Louise

Louise Hawkins Sanders, age 92, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 in a local hospital. Born September 28, 1918 in Darlington County, she was the daughter of the late David and Mary Virginia Penn Hawkins. Mrs. Sanders had retired from Dixie Cup and enjoyed going to the beach and watching Charles Stanley. She was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. Surviving are two sons: Herbert McIver “Mack” Sanders of Darlington, David Coleman (Elizabeth) Sanders of Florence; four daughters: Joanne S. Langley, Shirley S. (Charles) Nicholson, and Deborah S. (Kenneth) Hardee, all of Darlington, Brenda S. (Mike) McGrath of Spartanburg; grandchildren: Tina (Allen) Lambert, Terri (Scott) Dubose, Herb (Kristen) Nicholson, Edward (Lee Anne) Byrd, Tony (Kelley) Byrd, Penn (Christie) Sanders, McIver Sanders, Sam Sanders, Kim McLellan, Scott McLellan, Patrick McGrath, Charles (Jamie) Nicholson, III, Phillip Nicholson, Liz Hust, Cathy McKenzie; and twelve great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Isabel Carper and Jesse Mitchell McFarland, her daughter-in-law Betty Sanders and son-in-law, Coit Langley. Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 25 at Freedom Baptist Church with interment in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Belk Funeral Home.
