16-Year-Old Arrested In Connection To Attempted Murder Case

A teenager has been arrested in connection to an attempted murder investigation.

On July 7, a shooting occurred in the 1900 block of Butts Street. Officers responded to reports of gunfire and found a 19-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was take to a hospital to be treated.

Officials were able to identify a 16-year-old as the suspect. On Tuesday, officials conducted a search warrant of the juvenile’s home in the Oatland community, but the suspect wasn’t there. However, he was taken into custody Wednesday after surrendering to law enforcement with his parents.

The teen was later transported to the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice in Columbia. Further details are limited as the investigation remains active.
