Norris, Henry Ford

Pastor Henry Ford Norris, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 20, 2011 at his home following an illness. He was born July 23, 1921 in Loris where he spent his life as a farmer and minister. Pastor Norris was the son of the late Lucian G. and Viola Cox Norris. He was instrumental in the founding and building of Mt. Hebron Church where he was the pastor for a number of years, as well as several other churches. His purpose in life was witnessing for Jesus. His love of Jesus was reflected by his frequent giving to others in so many ways over the years. Pastor Norris is survived by his wife of 67 one space½ years, Marie Sarvis Norris of Loris; five children, Gayle Norris and her husband Winston of Tabor City, NC, Ronald Norris and his wife Bonnell, Terry Norris and his wife Debbie, Danny Norris and his wife Sarah all of Loris, and Sharon Wilson and her husband Bob of Johnson City, TN; eight grandchildren, Dana Norris, Chris Norris and his wife Crystal, Robin Norris, Adam Norris, Stephen Norris and his girlfriend Heather Grainger, Kelli Stanberry and her husband Cameron, Christy Cooke and her husband Joe, and Jada Boyd and her husband Clark; seven great grandchildren and three on the way; three sisters, Bert Hickman, who preceded him in death, Gladys Jernigan of Whiteville, NC, and Pat Harris and her husband Gill of Columbus, MS. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 5-7 PM at Ward Funeral Home in Loris. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 24, 2011 from the Ward Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ross Altman and Rev. Shelia Altman officiating. Burial will follow in the Princeville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Mt. Hebron Church, 190 Beauty Avenue, Loris, SC 29569.
