Gainey, Larry

Larry S. Gainey, Sr., age 61, died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 in a local hospital. Born June 26, 1949 in Darlington County he is the son of Betty and Heyward Gainey. Larry enjoyed carpentry, loved his dogs and was always willing to help others. He was employed by Nucor Steel. Surviving are his daughter, Amy (Troy) Blanks of Lexington, a son, Larry S. Gainey, Jr. of Darlington, three grandchildren: Darien Nicole Gainey, Ashley Blankenship, Sierra Gainey; and a brother, Heyward Gainey, Jr. He was predeceased by a brother, Jimmy Gainey. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Thursday, February 17 at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 3:00 P.M. Friday, February 18 in the Chapel of Belk Funeral Home with interment in Grove Hill Cemetery.
