Lewis, Gertrude

Gertrude Shackelford Lewis, 82, died Thursday, February 17, 2011 at Loris Community Hospital. Born on August 19, 1928 in Horry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late John and Oriana Thompson Shackelford. Mrs. Lewis is survived by three sons, Bruce Lewis (Andrea) of Germany, Mike Lewis (Sandra) of Loris and Keith Lewis (Tina) of Shallotte; ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Lee Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 pm on Sunday at Lee Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Kemo, P.O. Box 1116, Little River, SC 29566 (a summer camp for children with cancer). Lee Funeral Home & Crematory of Little River/North Myrtle Beach is serving the family.
