Man Arrested After Victim Suffers Critical Injuries During Shooting

The suspect was charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

One man is facing charges after a shooting left one person in critical condition.

Around 11pm Thursday, police responded to the area of Peachtree Road in the Socastee area. A victim was taken to a hospital with critical injuries.

An investigation found that the shooting did not stem from an argument or fight. Michael Hall and the victim were allegedly intoxicated when Hall accidentally shot the victim.

Hall was arrested and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

The investigation remains active and additional criminal charges could come.
