Users Report Disruptions With Meta Platforms

Users reported issues with Meta platforms Friday morning.
The web versions of WhatsApp and Instagram had gone offline in a major outage that also affected Facebook.
Only the websites of the two apps were offline. WhatsApp and Instagram’s apps appear to be functioning as normal. That was in contrast to the outage at Facebook, which knocked all of its apps including Messenger offline, as well as its web version.
All of parent company Meta’s apps share services behind the scenes, meaning that an outage on one usually comes with issues at others.
Meta confirmed the outage, with the company’s communications department posting on X: “We’re aware people are currently having trouble accessing our services.”
