Two Suspects Arrested After Shooting Leaves Two Victims Injured

While at the scene, officers were informed that two people with gunshot wounds arrived at a medical center.

Two people were arrested after a shooting unfolded in Myrtle Beach.

On Sunday afternoon, police were called to investigate a shooting in the parking lot of the Sandygate Village Apartments.

Officers found a group of shell casings that appeared to have been fired from a rifle. They also found a cell-phone that was dropped during the incident. While at the scene, officers were informed that two people with gunshot wounds arrived at a medical center.

A witness who was in the vehicle with the victims identified 17-year-old Romeo Elpers and 18-year-old Ian Monroe as the suspects. Elpers allegedly approached their vehicle with Monroe, who had the rifle. They fled the scene on foot but were later arrested.

Elpers’ charges are unclear but Monroe was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of possession of a weapon during a violent crime. An investigation remains underway.
