Trump Reschedules White House Correspondents’ Dinner

The rescheduled event comes nearly three months after gunfire abruptly ended this year's banquet at the Washington Hilton.

President Trump has rescheduled the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.

It will now take place at the Waldorf Astoria. It will be held nearly three months after gunfire abruptly ended this year’s banquet at the Washington Hilton.

The annual dinner has historically been held at the Hilton. However, the location change comes after the armed suspect stormed the April 25 event in what authorities say was a presidential assassination attempt.

The event will now take place on July 24. The decision to hold a second dinner was made by the association’s board after receiving input from members.
