Road Closures During Memorial Day Weekend

Drivers will be able to access Ocean Boulevard to go southbound at avenues along Kings Highway with a stoplight.

The Myrtle Beach Police Department announced traffic changes that will take effect Memorial Day weekend.

Starting at 6am May 22, drivers will only be able to use the southbound lanes along Ocean Boulevard between 29th Avenue North and South Kings Highway.

The change will last until 6am May 25. However, pedestrian access will remain available throughout Ocean Boulevard.

In addition, drivers will not be allowed to use Chester Street, Withers Drive, or Yaupon Drive as a cut-through. But drivers will be able to access Ocean Boulevard to go southbound at avenues along Kings Highway with a stoplight.

The accessible avenues include:

  • 21st Avenue North
  • Mr. Joe White Avenue
  • 9th Avenue North
  • 3rd Avenue South
  • 9th Avenue South
  • 13th Avenue South
  • 19th Avenue South
  • 25th Avenue South
  • 29th Avenue South
