Teacher Named Horry Co. Schools’ Top Teacher

Sinkler said her goal is to provide a safe, supportive classroom where students feel confident in taking risks, learn from mistakes and grow.

A teacher at Daisy Elementary in Loris has been named Horry County Schools’ Top Teacher.

Taylor Sinkler first joined district five years ago. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Francis Marion University and is pursuing her master’s degree at Coastal Carolina University.

Sinkler said her goal is to provide a safe, supportive classroom where students feel confident in taking risks, learn from mistakes and grow.

“Honored and blessed is truly an understatement. I do not feel worthy to stand here as teacher of the year for a district as strong and exceptional as Horry County Schools,” Sinkler said.
