Investigation Opened After Person Found Dead Outside Fire Station

Officials said the individual did not have ties to the fire department.

An investigation is underway after a person was found deceased inside a vehicle.

Around 10:30am on Tuesday, police responded to the Williamsburg County Fire Department Station 5 along Muddy Creek Road.

Upon arrival, an unresponsive individual was found inside a vehicle. EMS arrived on the scene, but the individual did not display signs of life. They were later pronounced dead by the coroner.

Officials said the individual did not have ties to the fire department and the cause of death was not publicly released. An investigation is underway to reveal more information.
