Trump Gives Iran New Deadline To Open Strait Of Hormuz

The U.S. national average for regular gasoline stood at $4.11 per gallon, up 86-cents from a month ago.

President Trump has given Iran a new deadline to allow all vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, or face strikes on critical infrastructure.

The deadline is 8pm Tuesday. Trump said, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!!”

The blocking of the waterway has significantly impacted fuel costs across the world. As of Sunday, the U.S. national average for regular gasoline stood at $4.11 per gallon, up 86-cents from a month ago. Additionally, jet fuel prices in the U.S. have more than doubled over the last few weeks.

Despite Trump’s recent deadline threat, Iranian officials said they will only reopen the waterway when financial damages from the war are fully compensated.
