Man Charged Following Stabbing In Horry County

The victim suffered "multiple lacerations to his face and at least two others to his chest and abdomen."

One man is facing charges following a stabbing in Horry County.

The incident happened around 8pm on Sunday at a Coastal Petro along Burcale Road. 35-year-old Zachary Meade, of New York, informed police that the victim was drunk and started assaulting him before he defended himself by stabbing the man.

The victim suffered “multiple lacerations to his face and at least two others to his chest and abdomen.” The incident report noted that Meade also had a stab wound on his back and a bite mark on his thigh.

Both of those involved were taken to a hospital to be treated. Meade has since been arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
