Deese, Myrtle Ellen

Mrs. Myrtle Ellen Deese, 88, of 651 Jane Road, Maxton, was born July 16, 1922 to the late Mr. John C. & Mrs. Hattie Deese Brooks of Maxton and died Sunday, January 2, 2011 at her home. Mrs. Deese leaves to cherish her memories: six daughters: Mrs. Lois Brooks, Mrs. Callie Oxendine and husband: Mr. Lesley, Mrs. Wilma Dial and husband: Mr. Larry, Ms. Marilyn Deese, Ms. Cynthia Deese all of Maxton and Mrs. Carol Sampson and husband: Mr. Bobby of Rowland; four sons: Mr. Samuel Deese of the home, Mr. Simeon Deese and Ms. Barbara, Mr. William “Bill” Deese and wife: Mrs. Trenette of Maxton and Mr. Berk Steven Deese and wife: Mrs. Shelia of Durham; a sister: Mrs. Sallie Graham; a son-in-law: Mr. Artis Locklear; a daughter-in-law: Ms. Linda Deese; twenty-seven grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a lifelong friend: Ms. Nettie Locklear and a host of relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 42 years: Mr. Berk Deese; two sons: Mr. Rudy Von Brooks and Mr. Robert Deese and a daughter: Mrs. Gladys Deese Locklear. The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 5, 2011, from 7-9 p.m. at Locklear & Son Funeral Home. The funeral will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2011, at Faith Baptist Church with the Revs: Jerry Locklear, John L. Locklear, Jr., Fredrick Locklear, David Hunt and Dr. Kenneth Locklear officiating. Burial will follow in the Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
