Lumberton Shooting Claims Life Of One Woman

27-year-old Alexis Locklear was found dead at the scene.

A drive-by shooting in Lumberton claimed the life of one person.

Wednesday night, police responded to the 2000 block of Musselwhite Circle on reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, 27-year-old Alexis Locklear was found dead at the scene.

The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Travis Hunt Jr.. An investigation determined that he fired multiple rounds toward a group of people who were standing near a vehicle. Locklear was hit by a stray round.

Hunt has been charged with first-degree murder and is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center. Further details are limited and anyone with information should contact the Lumberton Police Department.
