Vehicle Crashes Into Florence County School Building

Water service was shut off to a portion of the building as a precaution.

A vehicle crashed into a Florence County school on Friday.

Around 5am, rescue units responded to the Olanta Creative Arts and Magnet School along North Jones Road for a vehicle versus building collision.

Upon arrival, officials found that the vehicle had struck the school. One person was evaluated on the scene for minor injuries.

No classes were interrupted but water service was shut off to a portion of the building as a precaution.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Officials believe the incident may have been weather-related due to heavy fog in the area.
