Man Charged After Allegedly Holding Individual Hostage

33-year-old Eduardo Velasquez-Malave charged with third-degree domestic violence and kidnapping.

One man is facing charges after allegedly holding an individual hostage.

The incident unfolded on February 27 when 33-year-old Eduardo Velasquez-Malave reportedly kept a victim in a bedroom for an extended period of time, not allowing them to leave.

Several witnesses at the scene attempted to physically force the door open but Velasquez-Malave would force it back closed.

Eventually, he was taken into custody and charged with third-degree domestic violence and kidnapping. He was released from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $30,000 bond.
