Man Arrested In Connection To Marlboro Co. Bar Shooting

David Ward was arrested and charged with attempted murder and more.

A man was arrested in connection to a shooting that unfolded at a Marlboro County bar.

The shooting happened in the early hours of Monday at the Ellison Club in the McColl community. One victim was shot multiple times. They required immediate medical attention prior to being airlifted to another location for surgery. The victim is currently in stable condition.

On Monday evening, deputies served a search warrant along John Street in the Bennettsville area in connection to the shooting.

David Ward was arrested and charged with attempted murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, and unlawful carry of a pistol.

The investigation remains underway and more arrests are possible.
