Trump threatens to not allow the Gordie Howe International Bridge to open.

President Trump threatened to block the opening of a bridge that will connect Michigan to Canada.

Trump took to Truth Social to accuse Canada of taking advantage of the U.S. with unfair trade practices and its relationship with China.

Trump said he will not allow the Gordie Howe International Bridge to open unless Ottawa agrees to discuss tariffs and the exclusion of American products with Washington. The move is an attempt to bring Canada to the negotiating table.

“I will not allow this bridge to open until the United States is fully compensated for everything we have given them, and also, importantly, Canada treats the United States with the fairness and respect that we deserve,” Trump said.
