Locklear, Marie Locklear

Marie Locklear Locklear, age 89, of Lumberton, NC died at her residence on Sunday, February 6, 2011. She was born in Robeson County, NC on November 1, 1921 to the late Brady and Polly Strickland Locklear. She previously worked for Converse on the shoe assembly line. Mrs. Locklear is survived by three sons, Larry Locklear and Joe Locklear and wife Lucinda of Lumberton, NC and Phillip Greg Locklear of the home; five daughters, Betty Burke and husband Buster of Lumberton, NC, Diane Lambert of Fairmont, NC, Jerrie Gail Chavis of Lumberton, NC, Jackie Emanuel and husband Billy of Lumberton, NC and Sandra Locklear of the home; two grandchildren of the home, Brad and Alex; twenty-seven grandchildren, forty-seven great-grandchildren and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Wade Locklear and a son, Ted Ray Locklear. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 3:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Pevia officiating. Burial will follow the service at Smyrna Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 from 7:00-9:00 PM at Smyrna Baptist Church, Hwy 211 E. in Lumberton.
